Op Ed # 674 Celebrate The 248th Independence Day on This Fourth of July With a Story About The Origin of “The Star Spangled Banner"
By Capt Joseph R. John, July 3, 2024
Independence Day is a day for American Citizens to remember the Republic’s God given “Freedoms” that are outlined in the US Constitution, and they should thank the Good Lord for those “Freedoms”! Independence Day is the second birthday for “every” American Patriot.
We encourage you to click on the below listed link, to watch the video presentation that encapsulates a uniquely beautiful and historic message about the origin of “The Star-Spangled Banner.” The story is told by Attorney Francis Scott Key, who watched the British Battle Fleet in Chesapeake Bay of over 100 ships, shell Fort McHenry in Baltimore Harbor “all through the night” from September 13th to September 14, 1814. He then penned the words memorializing what he witnessed and the words were matched to an 18th Century song, which became the beautiful National Anthem of the United States of America.

On July 2, 1776, the Continental Congress voted in favor of independence from Great Britain and King George. Two days later, delegates from the 13 colonies adopted the Declaration of Independence—it was the birth certificate of America.
In a letter from John Adams to his wife, Abigail, dated July 3, 1776, Adams refers to that day as “the most memorable epoch in the history of America.”
He went on to write:
“I am apt to believe that it will be celebrated by succeeding generations as the great anniversary festival. It ought to be commemorated, as the day of deliverance, by solemn acts of devotion to God Almighty. It ought to be solemnized with pomp and parade, with shows, games, sports, guns, bells, bonfires, and illuminations, from one end of this continent to the other, from this time forward, forevermore.”
On Independence Day, American celebrants recall past events in US History. Our nation’s US History is not a blank page on which Domestic Enemies can substitute their distorted and dishonest version of the true and accurate history of the United States.
If the Education Departments of all 50 states expect to receive Federal Aid To Education from the US Department of Education, they are required to purchase a specific US History textbook for students to study, and are required to teach a distorted version of US History outlined in that specific textbook; the goal of the Biden Administration’s US Department of Education is to indoctrinate students in all 50 states in the dishonest version of US History printed in that specific textbook. All 50 State Education Departments are required to purchase and teach that dishonest, corrupted, and distorted version of the history of the United States printed in those textbooks published by a company controlled by George Soros.
Parents, and aware Americans Citizens, oppose the corrupted and inaccurate version of US History promoted by Progressives, Socialists Democrats, and Marxists that is used to indoctrinate public school students in 50 states. That US History curriculum also tears down America’s Historic Patriotic symbols. At the same time that America’s Domestic Enemies are indoctrinating students in a corrupted version of US History, they are also indoctrinating public school students in the Marxist created Critical Race Theory (CRT), which teaches public school students that white Americans are racist.
The US Constitutional Republic was established by the Founding Fathers who displayed their fearless courage in the face of death threats from King George of England. They drafted the US Constitution, “The Supreme Law of the Land,” and outlined the basic rules for governing the Republic. In the US Constitution, the Founding Fathers relayed their respect for their Creator, limited the powers of government, listed the sacred “Freedoms of the Individual,” and with The Bill of Rights, they secured the rights of the individual American Citizens for nearly two and a half centuries. The US Constitution and The Bill of Rights are considered instrumental to the founding philosophy of the United States.
During these perilous times for our nation on Independence Day and every day, American Citizens of faith should continue to seek God’s blessing for the US Constitutional Republic.
